Every day will be split in half day presentations (one stream small animals and one stream horses) and half day workshops.

The SVTPT is the official professional organization of animal physiotherapists and is recognized by the Swiss Physiotherapy Association physioswiss and the Society of Swiss Veterinarians GST. It offers the federally subsidized preparatory course for the higher professional examination HFP to become an animal physiotherapist with a federal diploma, the additional training for animal physiotherapy. The recognition of the HFP by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation, SBFI took place in December 2008 and thus the profession Animal Physiotherapist with Federal Diploma is a regulated, officially recognized profession.

The association aims to promote the professional education and training of its members and to ensure the quality of animal physiotherapy as well as to represent the professional and economic interests of its members to the outside world. In order to retain the title, the therapists are obliged to attend regular further training courses. As specialists, animal physiotherapists make an important contribution to the health of the animal and to interdisciplinary cooperation in animal health.

Der SVTPT ist die offizielle Berufsorganisation der TierphysiotherapeutInnen und ist vom Schweizer Physiotherapie Verband physioswiss und der Gesellschaft Schweizer Tierärztinnen und Tierärzte GST anerkannt. Er bietet den vom Bund subventionierten, vorbereitenden Kurs für die höhere Fachprüfung HFP zum Tierphysiotherapeuten mit eidgenössischem Diplom an, die Zusatzausbildung für Tierphysiotherapie. Die Anerkennung der HFP vom Staatssekretariat für Bildung, Forschung und Innovation, SBFI erfolgte im Dezember 2008 und dadurch ist der Beruf Tierphysiotherapeutin / Tierphysiotherapeut mit eidg. Diplom ein reglementierter, offiziell anerkannter Beruf.

Der Verband bezweckt, sich für die berufliche Aus- und Weiterbildung seiner Mitglieder einzusetzen und die Qualität in der Tierphysiotherapie zu sichern sowie die beruflichen und wirtschaftlichen Interessen seiner Mitglieder gegen aussen zu vertreten. Um den Titel behalten zu dürfen, sind die Therapeutinnen zu regelmässigen Weiterbildungen verpflichtet. Als Fachpersonen leisten die Tierphysiotherapeutinnen einen wichtigen Beitrag an die Gesundheit des Tieres und die interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit in der Tiergesundheit.
